This Privacy Policy explains how FreelanceNation ("FreelanceNation", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit freelancenation.com, create an account, sell or buy services, or otherwise use our platform (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, information collected automatically as you use the Service, and information from third parties who help us operate the platform.
- Account and profile data: your name, email address, password, and any profile details, gig descriptions, or images you choose to add.
- Transaction data: orders you place or receive, tier selections, payout details, and the limited payment metadata our payment processor returns to us. We do not store full card numbers.
- Communications: messages you send through our contact form, support requests, and email correspondence.
- Usage and device data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring URLs, and similar diagnostic data collected through cookies and similar technologies.
How we use your information
We use personal information to provide and improve the Service, including to:
- create and maintain your account and gig pages;
- process orders, payouts, and platform fees;
- display ratings, reviews, and public gig pages you publish;
- send transactional email such as order confirmations and account notices;
- respond to your questions and support requests;
- detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security issues;

Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used. Some analytics are provided by third-party tools that may set their own cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, although disabling them may affect how the Service works.
Email communications
We send service-related emails that are necessary to operate your account, such as confirmations and security notices. Where we send optional updates, you can opt out using the unsubscribe link in those emails. You cannot opt out of essential transactional messages while you hold an account.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the Service:
- Service providers: payment processors, hosting and infrastructure providers, email delivery services, and analytics tools that process data on our behalf under contract.
- Other users: when you buy or sell, the counterparty receives the information needed to complete and deliver the order. Public gig pages, ratings, and reviews are visible to anyone.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of FreelanceNation, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email us at the address below. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
